Diwald Riesling Fuchsentanz is an Austrian organic white wine. The wine consists entirely of the riesling grape and is made by winery Diwald, a winery that only makes organic wines.
The Riesling grapes are hand-picked in October after which the entire grapes are crushed and aged in stainless steel barrels. Maturation lasts into the spring/early summer of the following year.
Fun fact about this wine: the name 'Fuchsentanz' (or fox dance) comes from the German proverb 'wo sich Fuchs und Hase gute Nacht sagen' (where the fox and the hare wish each other goodnight) which in English corresponds to 'in the middle of nowhere' (because, of course, it is highly unlikely that a fox and a hare wish each other goodnight so if that were to happen, it would be in the middle of nowhere).
TASTING PROFILE: Diwald Riesling Fuchsentanz is an easy-drinking wine with aromas of citrus and apricot on the nose. It is a beautiful Riesling with a little residual sugar, which tastes very dry thanks to its fresh acidity.
